As a part of my solo show at The Stockroom Gallery in Clifton Hill (Melbourne, AUS) I painted a huge mural on the exterior of the gallery. I captured the whole process in time lapse! Was a surreal experience scaling my artwork up that big, especially in acrylic paint! Watch the video below:
‘Breathe’ is opening at the end of the week! The preview catalogue has been sent out to my email database, if you missed out please contact me and I’ll send you a copy.
Join me for the opening:
6 - 8pm
The Stockroom Gallery
355A Wellington St
The show runs from 5 - 15th September.
Pause. Soak up the moment and linger for a while. Pull the details into focus. Feel the light, the colours, the movement. Ground underfoot to distant dancing beams. Listen to the sweet sounds of the Australian bush. Allow the energy to ripple through you. Breathe.

Martinich&Carran invited me to exhibit with them at the Affordable Art Fair in Melbourne [insert terribly excited face here] alongside Rowena Martinich, Geoffrey Carran and Kathryn Junor. One small hiccup - the event opens the exact same day as my solo show!! Stress much?! Nevertheless, both are happening! The two shows are actually quite close to one another so you could make a day of it and visit both?
The Affordable Art Fair is a huge event held at the Royal Exhibition Building with 1000s of works from a unique mix of Australian and International galleries. Essentially a one stop art shop!

Pack your trail maps, gumboots and maybe a dinghy too, it’s the Surf Coast Arts Trail weekend! Never been to an Arts Trail, wondering what it even is? The Arts Trail is a weekend long event held on the 10-11 August where the artists and makers of the Surf Coast throw open their studio doors and invite the general public in (ie. YOU GUYS).
This will be my fourth Arts Trail, the first in my new studio! Ashmore Arts is a fabulous place to visit on the trail, you get to visit so many creatives at one stop with 15+ studios as well as visiting artists. Geoffrey Carran (who is also the creator of the beautiful cockatoo on the poster!), Rowena Martinich, Kathryn Junor, Takeawei, Indie Lane Photography, Form Concrete Artisans, Simply Forged and Bombora Custom Furniture just to name a few! PS there will be coffee and food too woo!
I will have my full range of prints - framed and unframed- and greeting cards, upcycled tags, a preview of my online course, colouring in for the kids, paint and play for the adults, some samples and seconds too. It is going to be a super fun weekend rain hail and shine!
Here’s a few snaps of the opening night of Art Local at Ocean Grind. The turn out was huge and it was so amazing to see our local community support the event.
23 artists contributed work, with 56 works hung.
It takes more than a village to pull this kind of thing off, and an enormous amount of work behind the scenes. I couldn’t be happier with how it all came together, and hoping that this might just be the first of many.
The show continues until 20th April, 2019.
I have teamed up with Torquay coffee roaster, Ocean Grind to create a group art exhibition in their roastery cafe. Opening 12 April and running through until 20 April, the curated selection celebrates a diverse array of established and emerging Surf Coast artists.
Join us for the opening night event, 12 April from 5-9pm.
I am very excited to have a new original painting in the Corner Store Gallery’s group show “Works on Paper”. Opening this Friday night, 16th November the works are currently on view on their online store.
This piece has quite the story. I submitted it for consideration into the show and on Halloween of all days, it got completely ruined by a vase toppling over and smashing on my desk. **Ghosts?!**. I was quite devastated as I had really enjoyed painting this piece, so what was left to do but start painting it again? I spent the evening reworking it, using the ruined one as a reference. I didn’t want to recreate it exactly as I think that can effect the overall quality of the work. The next day I found out it had been selected! So had to confess it what I had submitted was destroyed but am working on a replacement.
Below is the piece that is on show at the Corner Store Gallery. I can’t make the opening, but if you happen to be around in Orange, NSW, please drop in!

This coming weekend, the 12th and 13th of August is the annual Surf Coast Arts Trail. It's a weekend where the local artists and craftspeople throw open their studio doors to the public and invite you in.
My studio is located at Ashmore Arts, stop 22 on the map. Ashmore Arts is a highlight of the whole trail as you get to visit such a large and broad range of artists in one place, including Rowena Martinich, Geoffrey Carran, Takeawei Ceramics, Pete Cromer, Mark Trinham, Bombora Custom Furniture, Glenn Romanis, Glen Hunwick, Nathan Patterson, Kathryn Junor, Simply Forged, Form Concrete Artisans, Leighton Edwards and Metal Monkey Knives.
Last year was my first Arts Trail. I had only had my studio at Ashmore Arts for about a month and I didn't know what to expect. I had such an incredible weekend meeting and chatting with people who had traveled from near and far to visit. I was blown away with the response.
I will have prints, originals, cards, gift wrap and a few other bits and pieces for sale. Eftpos will be available on the day.
Fingers crossed for sunny weather!
