The End of an Era (But the Beginning of Something New)
Hello friends. I’ve got some heartfelt news to share: after over 15 years of pouring watercolour joy into print runs and managing my dedicated Print Shop, I’ve decided it’s time to close the Print Shop doors as you’ve known them.
Before you gasp, here’s the tea ...and yes, there’s a little sale fiesta too. 🎉
Why I’m Closing the Print Shop
There’s never an easy way to say “things are changing,” so here it is clear and friendly:
- The main reason I'm closing the Print Shop is I’ll be on my Watercolour Workshop Tournext year! With an exciting schedule of workshops and creative adventures as we travel around Australia, I won’t have the capacity to run the Print Shop with the level of care, attention to detail and hands-on magic it deserves. I sign every print individually and check over each one before it leaves the studio. My work has never been mass-manufactured, and it never will be. I believe art should be intentional, personal and made with love. Closing the shop means I can keep that promise while I share my art more widely and connect with more of you face-to-face.
- I’ve grown. When I started, the Print Shop was just me, producing pieces lovingly from my home base on Wadawurrung Country / the Surf Coast. Over time the “shop side” has grown as much as the art side and the maintenance of print runs, inventory, packaging, shipping, all of the admin… it began pulling me away from what I love most: painting, exploring nature, colour‑driven watercolour expression, and connecting with you on a human level.
-
Sustainable & intentional. My ethos has always been about environmentally‑considered art. Australian‑made, locally printed, mindful production. But running the print shop at scale sometimes runs counter to the “carefully crafted, small‑batch” model I believe in. By winding things down I can focus on truly limited, special editions and reduce waste.
The “Let’s Celebrate Before I Shut the Doors” Sale
Because we’re doing this together and I want to say thank you for your thousands of clicks, your gallery‑wall love, your emails, your stories of what the prints mean in your homes. That’s why:
-
I’m offering 30% off across the entire print collection (yep, many of those limited edition and archival‑quality prints you’ve admired) until the Print Shop officially closes.
-
Once the Print Shop closes, some editions will become “final edition” (no re‑prints) and others will be retired entirely. So this is your chance to grab something you’ve been eyeing.
-
All prints remain printed here in Australia, on archival quality paper, signed by me. You’re not getting something mass‐produced overseas. This is still the real deal. (See my print collection here)
-
Shipping, stock and cut‑off dates will be updated on the website, so if you’re after that special piece, best to move early. Some editions will sell out, and once they're gone - they are gone for good!
Why My Prints Are Extra Special
Because I believe you deserve more than just “lots of prints available.” Here’s what makes mine stand out:
-
Authenticity & connection: Each print originates from one of my original watercolour artworks, so you’re connecting to a genuine creative process rooted in nature, colour and a sense of belonging. My work draws on the Australian bush, the birds and the flora. Colours and detail are carefully matched to the original so every brushstroke and pastel mark comes through.
-
Australian‑made, archival‑quality: I print locally in Australia, on beautiful textured paper, to archival standards. Meaning your piece will age beautifully and retain its vibrancy.
-
Limited editions: Most prints are limited in run. This isn’t “paint it, print it, flood the market”, these are thoughtfully released and carefully considered.
-
Meaning & magic: I infuse my art with joyful colour, a sense of belonging and connection to nature. When you hang a piece in your home, I want you to feel you’re bringing in more than décor: you’re inviting in a story, a moment of calm, a vibe of belonging.
-
Your support matters: By investing in a print you’re supporting a local Australian artist. You’re part of the journey, the community, the story. And that matters big time to me.
What Happens Next & What You Can Do
-
I’ll keep producing prints for now but the shop (as you know it) will close at a date to be announced soon. After that, select pieces will be archived and unavailable for re‑print.
-
Keep an eye on my newsletter and social channels because I’ll announce the final cut‑off date, plus highlight the best sale pieces.
-
If there’s a print you’ve had your eye on, now’s a great time to pop into the shop and secure it.
-
Want something more bespoke? After the Print Shop closure I’ll be offering more original work, the occasional print release in small editions, more workshop/online class energy, so stay tuned.
Final Word
Closing the print shop feels bittersweet, it has served me so well! But it's time to clear space for a new chapter. It’s also exciting. Because it means I’ll be painting more, dreaming more and crafting work (and experiences) that resonate deeply with you, the fellow seekers of colour, belonging, nature, and creative joy.
So thank you. From the bottom of my watercolour‑filled heart. Thank you for being part of this art journey with me. Let’s make this print‑shop‑closing sale the best kind of celebration: a high‑five to what’s been, and a wink to what’s next.
