Natalie Martin is an artist based on Wadawurrung Country (Surf Coast, Victoria). She works primarily in vibrant watercolour, drawing deep inspiration from the landscapes and native flowers she explores. Her current work reflects a deep connection to trees—their quiet strength, shifting forms, and their ability to ground and heal us.
Spending time in nature is central to Natalie’s practice. She is drawn to the rhythm of the seasons and the ever-changing qualities of the landscape, finding inspiration among towering canopies, weathered trunks, and dappled light. With her studio situated on the Surf Coast, she is constantly immersed in these environments—observing, learning, and translating her experiences onto paper.
Natalie studied Communication Design at RMIT and maintained a broad creative practice throughout her studies and early career. She fell in love with watercolour early on, experimenting with inks and water-soluble crayons along the way. Her first solo exhibition, Welcome to the Nest (2012), was held in Geelong, and she has since exhibited her landscape and floral works across Australia. Over the years, she has developed a collection of limited edition prints, created an environmentally friendly stationery line, explored fabric printing, collaborated with brands and shared her passion through both in-person and online workshops.
