Sometimes everything just falls into place. Back in August I held three workshops at Meet Gather Collect in Aranda (Canberra). It was the second time I visited this gorgeous store and taught some classes. As we were planning the workshops, Thea the owner, suggested I exhibit some work on the walls as well - and of course, I said yes!

There’s something really special about seeing a body of work find its way out into the world. My newest collection, The Ties That Bind, has been such a personal journey and now a selection of these pieces are hanging on the walls of Meet Gather Collect in Aranda, ACT.

I'm thrilled to be a part of Mum's the Word, a group exhibition on musings on motherhood. Perfectly timed with upcoming Mother's Day of course!

The show features a selection of emerging and established female artists from my local stomping ground Wadawurrung country / The Surf Coast. We were asked to create a work around the thoughts, feelings and connections that shape our experiences, the way we juggle motherhood, creativity and life.

Loz from LJM Photography snuck into my studio recently and captured me at work. I thought I’d share some of the photos along with a bit of the story behind them.

I have so many fond memories of visiting the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne as a kid. My family would go and see the ducks, have picnics and roll around in the autumn leaves. We'd explore every nook and cranny of the gardens, it was always a highlight from a day trip to big city.

These artist books are too good not to have their own blog post! They are one of the main outcomes of a recent art retreat to Lutruwita / Tasmania held at Enclave Tasmania. I proposed at the beginning of the retreat that each student come up with a concept for their book, paint and assemble it all within the retreat. My brief to them was a collation of their inspiration, memories or experience of their time in Tassie. The excitement was real!

What a way to kick off 2024. I feel very fortunate to be given the opportunity to teach at an art retreat. It was something I've never done before and was super excited by the prospect of working closely with students over 5 days. Not to mention be surrounded by exquisite landscapes!

I’ve known Daisy of AsDaisyDoes for a while, I actually used to teach workshops in her space in Geelong back in the day. She doesn’t do workshops anymore, but she has expanded her world into the wholesale sector with her new business Big Daisy. We’ve always kept in touch and it’s been incredible to watch her do her thing (as only Daisy does!)

Huxter reached out to me at the end of last year. The Melbourne based company produces a range of home products including wrapped soaps featuring Australian artists. They had a number of artists they worked with but had never worked with a watercolour artist before. I was quick to say yes!
