I’m back for the second installment of my Creative Shout Out blog series, highlighting more fabulous creative friends, colleagues and studio pals. You can read the first installment here and I talk a bit more about the reasons behind this concept. Suffice to say, I had such a great time putting it together, I’ve come back for more! This Shout Out features largely my awesome studio pals, read on for creative goodness.
Kathryn Junor - Open Studio 11 December
First up in this Shout Out is Kathryn Junor. Kathryn and I have been studios neighbours for 8 or 9 years. She is hosting a little open studio / Christmas drinks and nibbles at her studio on the 11 December, everyone is invited! What a lovely way to celebrate the year and as a solo creative, we don't really get a chance to do a "work" Christmas party! It's on from 4-7.30pm, with drinks, nibbles and works for sale! (Bargains I hear). Her studio is two door down from me at number 8.
Jenna Winship - En Plein Air Workshop at Ashmore Arts
Jenna is an exceptional painter and she is hosting a en plein air workshop at our very own Ashmore Arts (it's pretty beautiful there, just sayin'). She teaches her workshops under the name Le Petit Atelier Torquay and is going to cover all things painting outdoors!
When: 10am - 1.30pm, Sunday 18 Jan
Want to book? Head over to her site here.
Samantha Leggett - Cycles of Becoming Exhibition
Claire Gorst - Geelong Ceramics Market
My final shout out for this week is for Claire who's phenomenal ceramics works will be at the Geelong Ceramics Market, on this coming weekend, 7-8 December, 2024. Stop in to Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong from 11am - 4pm. Claire is among a serious amount of talent at this market! Check out the other exhibitors here. You'll also find her stuff at Boom Gallery if you happen to miss the market but still want to nab some clay treasures.
Thanks for reading and keep an eye out for the next edition of Creative Shout Outs!
