It's no big secret that it's been a really tough year for creatives and small businesses. In fact, it's been pretty tricky year-on-year for some time. Ouch. So I'm taking a quick moment to shout out some awesome creative people in my circles. I'm very lucky to have a diverse and very special community of creatives and makers around me. I'm hoping to do a little series of these "Creative Shout Out" blog posts to show off some of these awesome people. Aren't I lucky?
Andrea Shaw - SC Collage Club
Andrea is an accomplished multi-disciplinary artist and teacher and she's just started up SC Collage Club, a fun workshop series kicking off in January!

Eli Beke - Wedge & Edge Studio
I gifted one of Eli's spoon carving workshops to my partner and oh my goodness did we have a lovely time. We sat around the fire and learned how to wield these special carving tools and created spoons out of beautiful banksia timber. Eli not only offers great workshops, he is big on the market circuit where you'll find his array of carefully crafted homewares including vessels, bowls, spoons, sculptures and objects - all created with his unique eye.
You must check out his giant oversized pasta sculptures!

Erin Reinboth
Erin now works in my original studio at Ashmore Arts (yeah number 4! Good lineage in that studio ;) I inherited it from Andrea Shaw - mentioned above!) and she is an absolute powerhouse of good vibes and colourful paintings. She has a solo show "Mind's Eye" coming up at Sol Galleryin Fitzroy. The exhibition opens 10 December and runs until 22 December - hello fabulous opportunity for Chrissy gifts!

Anthony Christie - Georgie Wood Custom Timberworks
My mate Anthony (he answers to Aiks) started off his own custom timberworks business this year (a brave man! Starting a business this year is not for the faint hearted). Georgie Wood started off as a hobby, then a weekend side hustle, then he formally trained under a brilliant local maker and he's now a fully qualified cabinet maker and timber craftsman with a keen eye for detail and finish.
