From Yeppoon to Cairns, this stretch of the Watercolour Workshop Tour was full of warm welcomes, spectacular landscapes and one very silly scheduling mistake. Between art societies, roadside fruit stalls, tropical rainforests and a few unexpected detours, we discovered some of our favourite places in Queensland and learned that the best adventures rarely go exactly to plan.
This chapter of our Big Lap took us from the wild beauty of Pebbly Beach to workshops on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, with plenty of adventures in between. Along the way we painted local flora, met long-time students, explored new corners of Australia and were reminded just how generous and welcoming regional communities can be.
Stories from the first few weeks on the road. Workshops, caravan dramas, adventures! We packed up our place in Torquay and started the pilgrimage up the coast.
To say getting set to hit the road for my 2026 Watercolour Workshop Tour was overwhelming and incredibly hard is an understatement.
I completely underestimated just how much was involved in turning everyday life into life on the road. Not just for a trip, but for a year of teaching, traveling and creating across Australia.
It’s getting real! After months (years, really!) of planning, prepping, and quietly working behind the scenes, we’re officially two months out from hitting the road for my upcoming Watercolour Workshop Tourand I couldn’t be more excited!
