We had the most beautiful weather. So unusual for August on the Surf Coast - not complaining though! It was an absolute pleasure having everyone come and visit my studio at Ashmore Arts. We had thousands of people come out over the weekend, the whole property was abuzz with energy.
A shout out to a few special people that traveled long distances to come to my studio for the open days. In particular one from Bendigo and one from the Gold Coast - you know who you are! You sure know how to make a girl feel special. Both are students of mine and it is so lovely to put faces to names and bridge the digital gap.
Although Ashmore Arts isn’t the only stop on the trail, it is a very popular one because you get to see a broad range of working creatives in one place. It’s a very special community there. It is so amazing to have other people around you in what is normally a very solitary profession. I know we all love sharing our space with you for the weekend.
Ashmore has also recently expanded and we have 6 more studios - so there were lots of new faces to visit too. It's an ever-changing, evolving place which is one of the reasons we love it so much.
Here are some of Kristen's photos. She was the official photographer for the Arts Trail this year and it's so great to have some profesh photos to share. Starting with my space, then some of Ashmore and our cheeky resident doggy Belle.
My super star helper Kylee helps me out over the weekend as I juggle baby, toddler, visitors and questions etc!
Love this photo of my little guy Ned and I
